“I have worked for ServiceSport for over 15 years, with my career beginning as an apprentice engineer training in electrical engineering. It is my job to ensure that all our engineers, re-manufacturing and installation teams are trained to the highest level. I work closely with all our suppliers to ensure that our teams are always kept abreast of technical updates and new equipment releases.“
All new engineers and workshop staff go through a 12 month training programme, with assessments on a monthly basis to ensure they are learning the correct methods and making sufficient progress. At the end of the training programme, engineers are required to pass a series of tests to ensure they are meet the high standards set by ServiceSport and are able to work unsupervised. Our in house installation teams undergo training to ensure they have the knowledge to show our customers how to best care for their new equipment and ensure that all machinery is safely handled and installed.
As well as our own training programmes, we are now working with Alliance Learning and local colleges to provide engineer, workshop, administration and accounts apprenticeship places. ServiceSport have many staff in various roles who have come through our apprenticeship schemes, which is a great indicator that investing in our people is paying off.
Continual training is in place to keep our teams up to date with all the latest equipment releases and technical issues, with quarterly engineer training days being held at our head office. Our engineer’s goal is to complete all work on a first visit basis, to avoid costly second visits and extended down time of your equipment.
All engineers are spot checked at least once a month to ensure correct codes of practice are being adhered to, with the results being logged in each engineer’s onsite assessment records in our internal database.
ServiceSport’s ethos of affordable products, effective service and preventative maintenance are paramount in how our engineers operate. To facilitate this, field engineers carry computer tablets linked to our head office with access to the latest diagnostic equipment, service manuals and schematic diagrams supporting them to ensure that all work is completed on a first visit basis.
Our field engineers and installation teams work in a variety of environments: public places, secure facilities, schools through to private homes. For your peace of mind all new and existing team members are CRB checked and also go through our ongoing rigorous internal security checks
