Volair ecstatic with new flagship site refurbishment

Volair Limited, a not-for-profit organisation, took over the management of 11 sites from Knowsley MBC on the 1st April 2016, including Kirkby Leisure Centre.

The previous Head of Adult Provider Services & Leisure for Knowsley MBC, Kevin Schofield, was appointed Managing Director of the new company.

Kirkby Leisure Centre was the first site to undergo a complete transformation with a complete rebranding program planned for the remaining sites.

ServiceSport was the chosen supplier to work with the Volair team to achieve their transformation vision. Amanda (Walsh) and her ServiceSport team worked closely with Kevin, Lynn Wilson and Sue Lawrence from Volair to ensure the provision and installation of fitness equipment during the refurbishment process.

The equipment, which is from ServiceSport’s Approved Life Fitness Remanufactured partnership, was finished in gun metal with red upholstery, and the kit sweat covers donning the embroidered Volair logo.

Volair Director and Councillor Eddie Connor attended the opening day as well as members of the community and Volair staff. Everyone was in agreement that the refurbishment has been a huge success. Members of the new Kirkby Leisure Centre are very impressed with their new facilities.

Lynn Wilson, Health & Fitness Manger said: “The transformation of the gym is even better than we had imagined, the look, feel and usability of the gym is vibrant and engaging, exactly the culture that Team Volair aspires to.”

Volair is now looking to the near future to roll out the refurbishment across their other sites. Watch this space!
